4:95 Not equal
are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive in the cause of God with their goods and their persons. God hath
granted a grade higher to those who strive with their property and
persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath God promised
good: But those who strive fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit
(at home) by a special reward,-
4:96 Ranks
specially bestowed by Him, and Forgiveness and Mercy. For God is Oft-forgiving,
Most Merciful.
Jehad are categorized into three types;
- Jehad bin Nafs ...Personal strive, to improve one's moral conditions and others by educating them
- Jehad bil Maal...Strive with goods, to give charity to improve the personal, social, moral conditions of others and in spreading of the message of Allah
- Jeha bil Qatl....Striving against the offences in defence to protect one's life, faith, family, belongings, , etc...and to bring back the peace and order in land from corrupt forces.
Jehaad : Understanding The word جهاد and its Purpose in Quran
61:10
O you who believe! shall I lead you to a
merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement?
61:11
You shall believe in Allah and His Apostle, and
struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives; that is
better for you, did you but know!
61:12
He will forgive you your faults and cause you to
enter into gardens, beneath which rivers flow, and goodly dwellings in
gardens of perpetuity; that is the mighty achievement;
4:95
The holders back from among the believers, not
having any injury, and those who strive hard in Allah's way with their
property and their persons are not equal; Allah has made the strivers with
their property and their persons to excel the holders back a (high) degree,
and to each (class) Allah has promised good; and Allah shall grant to the
strivers above the holders back a mighty reward:
9:24
Say: If your fathers and your sons and your
brethren and your mates and your kinsfolk and property which you have
acquired, and the slackness of trade which you fear and dwellings which you
like, are dearer to you than Allah and His Apostle and striving in His way,
then wait till Allah brings about His command: and Allah does not guide the
transgressing people.
9:81
Those who were left behind were glad on account
of their sitting behind Allah's Apostle and they were averse from striving in
Allah's way with their property and their persons, and said: Do not go forth
in the heat. Say: The fire of hell is much severe in heat. Would that they
understood (it).
9:82
Therefore they shall laugh little and weep much
as a recompense for what they earned.
9:83
Therefore if Allah brings you back to a party of
them and then they ask your permission to go forth, say: By no means shall
you ever go forth with me and by no means shall you fight an enemy with me;
surely you chose to sit the first time, therefore sit (now) with those who
remain behind.
9:84
And never offer prayer for any one of them who
dies and do not stand by his grave; surely they disbelieve in Allah and His
Apostle and they shall die in transgression.
9:85
And let not their property and their children
excite your admiration; Allah only wishes to chastise them with these in this
world and (that) their souls may depart while they are unbelievers
9:86
And whenever a chapter is revealed, saying:
Believe in Allah and strive hard along with His Apostle, those having
ampleness of means ask permission of you and say: Leave us (behind), that we
may be with those who sit.
9:87
They preferred to be with those who remained
behind, and a seal is set on their hearts so they do not understand.
9:88
But the Apostle and those who believe with him
strive hard with their property and their persons; and these it is who shall
have the good things and these it is who shall be successful.
9:89
Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which
rivers flow, to abide in them; that is the great achievement.

Qitaal :The Fight of weapons in war
Understanding the word قتال and its purpose in Quran
22:39 Permission (to fight) is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and most surely Allah is well able to assist them;
4:74
Therefore let those fight in the way of Allah,
who sell this world's life for the hereafter; and whoever fights in the way
of Allah, then be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty
reward.
4:75
And what reason have you that you should not
fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the
children, (of) those who say: Our Lord! cause us to go forth from this town,
whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us
from Thee a helper.
4:76
Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and
those who disbelieve fight in the way of the Shaitan. Fight therefore against
the friends of the Shaitan; surely the strategy of the Shaitan is weak.
4:77
Have you not seen those to whom it was said:
Withhold your hands, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate; but when
fighting is prescribed for them, lo! a party of them fear men as they ought
to have feared Allah, or (even) with a greater fear, and say: Our Lord! why
hast Thou ordained fighting for us? Wherefore didst Thou not grant us a delay
to a near end? Say: The provision of this world is short, and the hereafter
is better for him who guards (against evil); and you shall not be wronged the
husk of a date stone.
4:78
Wherever you are, death will overtake you, though
you are in lofty towers, and if a benefit comes to them, they say: This is
from Allah; and if a misfortune befalls them, they say: This is from you.
Say: All is from Allah, but what is the matter with these people that they do
not make approach to understanding what is told (them)?
4:79
Whatever benefit comes to you (O man!), it is
from Allah, and whatever misfortune befalls you, it is from yourself, and We
have sent you (O Prophet!), to mankind as an apostle; and Allah is sufficient
as a witness.
4:80
Whoever obeys the Apostle, he indeed obeys Allah,
and whoever turns back, so We have not sent you as a keeper over them.
3:167
And that He might know the hypocrites; and it was
said to them: Come, fight in Allah's way, or defend yourselves. They said: If
we knew fighting, we would certainly have followed you. They were on that day
much nearer to unbelief than to belief. They say with their mouths what is
not in their hearts, and Allah best knows what they conceal.
3:168
Those who said of their brethren whilst they
(themselves) held back: Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed.
Say: Then avert death from yourselves if you speak the truth.
3:169
And reckon not those who are killed in Allah's
way as dead; nay, they are alive (and) are provided sustenance from their
Lord;
3:170
Rejoicing in what Allah has given them out of His
grace and they rejoice for the sake of those who, (being left) behind them,
have not yet joined them, that they shall have no fear, nor shall they
grieve.
5:44
Surely We revealed the Taurat in which was
guidance and light; with it the prophets who submitted themselves (to Allah)
judged (matters) for those who were Jews, and the masters of Divine knowledge
and the doctors, because they were required to guard (part) of the Book of
Allah, and they were witnesses thereof; therefore fear not the people and
fear Me, and do not take a small price for My communications; and whoever did
not judge by what Allah revealed, those are they that are the unbelievers.
5:45
And We prescribed to them in it that life is for
life, and eye for eye, and nose for nose, and ear for ear, and tooth for
tooth, and (that there is) reprisal in wounds; but he who foregoes it, it
shall be an expiation for him; and whoever did not judge by what Allah
revealed, those are they that are the unjust.
2:246
Have you not considered the chiefs of the
children of Israel after Musa, when they said to a prophet of theirs: Raise
up for us a king, (that) we may fight in the way of Allah. He said: May it
not be that you would not fight if fighting is ordained for you? They said:
And what reason have we that we should not fight in the way of Allah, and we
have indeed been compelled to abandon our homes and our children. But when
fighting was ordained for them, they turned back, except a few of them, and
Allah knows the unjust.
